Frequently asked questions.
What are hair extensions?
Hair extensions are locks of real human hair that are machine-bound or hand-tied together to form individual “wefts” of hair. These wefts are commonly produced 10-22 inches in length, ten inches in width, and are available in a variety of color blends.
Is there a difference between machine-bound and hand-tied wefts?
Absolutely! Machine-bound wefts are mass produced while hand-tied wefts are, as the name implies, sewn by hand. Although hand-tied wefts take much more labor to produce one significant advantage is that they have a much smaller binding than machine-bound wefts. As a result hand-tied wefts install flatter and help create a more natural look.
How are HandTied hair extensions installed?
The word “handtied” refers to the type of hair that is actually used for the installation with a method of beaded row foundation. Many methods will vary the way your natural hair is isolated, or used as a “point of contact” to act as the foundation for which the “handtied”wefts are stitched to your hair. This method requires no tape, glue, or heat for the installation with the least amount of “points of contact”

What are some do's and don'ts for maintaining extensions?
Don't use products that contain Sulfate, Sodium Chloride, Silicone, or Paraban.
Don’t wash your hair everyday and never use condition right at your roots as this can cause slippage or build up on the wefts.
Don't go to sleep with damp or wet hair as this can cause matting at the base of the wefts and your natural hair.
Do use a wet brush at least once daily to remove tangles and knots. Start at the ends and work your way up to your roots keeping a firm grip on the base of the extensions to reduce pulling them away from your natural hair.
Do brush rows individually to help prevent tangling.
Do apply a liberal amount of serum/oil on to the mid-ends of the extensions before bedtime every night to maintain hydration.
Do apply dry shampoo before bedtime to help absorb oils naturally secreted and help avoid buildup on your wefts.
Do use a silk or satin pillowcase.
Do sleep with your hair in a loose and low ponytail or braid to help avoid unnecessary tangling.
Do deep condition your hair regularly to help maintain essential hydration.
Blondes: if you prefer cooler/ashy tones, do use a purple shampoo every third wash. Lanza or Loma Violet Shampoo is an excellent choice.
Ponytails: elastics can rip hair out from you extension. Do use only invisibobby or scrunches to help prevent damage to your hair or extensions.
Do coat you hair in conditioner or oil prior to going swimming to help protect against damage from chemicals or minerals.
Don't get sunscreen on your hair or extensions.
